The awards highlight the best, most innovative and effective charity organisations and individuals from the past year, and celebrate those who make a difference in their communities.
Simon Community Scotland’s life saving digital health solution is the first of its kind in the UK and alerts staff when someone is overdosing. Following an increase in deaths from drug overdoses at their services the team worked with service users and partners to develop a system using radar and mattress sensors to monitor vital signs, and there have been no deaths since the project started.
This solution was designed and developed by the team here at carezapp in collaboration with Simon Community Scotland staff and service users. It utilises our technology enabled support system for care in homes and communities. Integrating some novel non-contact technologies within service user rooms to delivered 24/7-year-round monitoring of activity, respiratory and resting heart rate.
